Best Songs – Semana 2

Semana 2 da série Best Songs! Hoje tenho o prazer de apresentar uma música que se tornou um hino (principalmente entre os cristãos) quando foi lançada.

Em 1995 a banda de pop rock DC Talk lançou o álbum Jesus Freak, que bateu todos os records de vendas de álbuns cristãos na primeira semana até então. O álbum é muito bom como um todo contendo boas músicas, mas o sucesso veio principalmente pela faixa Jesus Freak.

A mensagem de Jesus Freak é bastante clara e pode ser resumida na frase “they see me as weak cause I won’t live and die for the power they see“. Isso levanta a questão de que apesar de aparentar, para o mundo, fraqueza, o cristão é no fim das contas o homem mais forte, pois teve a coragem de enfrentar o poder ao qual muitos se acomodaram e seguem cegamente.
